1948 Election

During the 1948 election there were many issues. People were worry about the fact that Dewey lost to Truman. There were people saying how much Dewey will win by.
The things everyone was having trouble with Truman is the fact he was against the race and the lack of rights everyone were having. In 1948 the U.S.A. became the world's most powerful nation thanks to the atomic bombs that were dropped in the cities Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Which killed over 140,000 people.
There were 5 big things Harry Truman did as president.

1) Drop the atomic bomb?
2) Supported railroad and coal miners in their strike.
3) Civil rights- desegregated the Army?
4) support creation of new country- Israel?

5) Marshall Plan.

The Americans started getting worried about Russia and what they should do about them since they found out about the atomic bomb? I think Harry Truman did fulfilled his responsibility as president of America.

1936 presidentual election

The United States presidential election of 1936 was the most lopsided presidential election in the history of the United States.
This election was the third biggest vote since 1820.
During the 1936 election campaign the democrats were scare. Because of a flaw

poll conducted by Literary Digest incorrectly predicted a landslide victory for Roosevelt's.
The election was skewed at first because polltakers had relied on literary digest.

They had predicted that 55% of the votes would go to Alf Landon.
They were wrong. On Election Day 1936, was the day of greatest
electoral triumph for the Democrats in the party's history.
The president received 27,752,869 votes. Landon's received 16,674,665 votes.
Landon, who won in only Maine and Vermont, got only 8 votes.

Roosevelt received 523. Making this the 3 biggest landslides in Victory.

1932 Presidental Election

Herbert Hoover 1928-1932
A Life in Brief: Upon accepting the Republican nomination for President in 1928, Herbert Hoover predicted that "We in America today are nearer to the final triumph over poverty than ever before in the history of any land. The poorhouse is vanishing from among us." Hoover won the presidency that year, but his time in office belied his optimistic assertion. More....

Franklin Roosevelt 1933-1945
Assuming the Presidency at the depth of the Great Depression, Franklin D. Roosevelt helped the American people regain faith in themselves. He brought hope as he promised prompt, vigorous action, and asserted in his Inaugural Address, "the only thing we have to fear is fear itself."
